Movement
This Library clock has a spring-driven brass movement with a going train only. It has a spring barrel, gut fusee, anchor escapement and short pendulum. The backplate is signed as follows: Cousens & Whiteside 20 Davies St.

Dial
The arched silvered brass dial has a Roman chapter ring with quarter divisions, five-minute indications and minute strokes in a ring. The signature Cousens & Whiteside, 20 Davies Street, Berkley Square is engraved in elegant letters below the chapter ring. The winding hole is situated above the VI. The time is indicated by a beautiful pair of blued steel hands.

Case
This mahogany library clock has bevelled glass windows to the top and sides, so that the movement is almost completely visible. The base is, just like the top, has various mouldings. A gilded brass trim has been added under the top moulding for decoration. The case rests on four wooden block-shaped feet. The front has a door with an arched glass panel, which provides access to the winding square and the hands.
