Movement
The spring-driven brass movement is constructed between three horizontal plates and consists of going and striking trains. The going train has a spring barrel, a chain fusee and a vertical hairspring balance with regulation. Rack striking indicates the hours on a bell. The clock is wound from the bottom. The maker has signed the clock on the backplate Haqvin Pettersson in Söderköping No. 12.

Dial
The circular white enamelled dial has a chapter ring with Arabic hour numerals and Arabic quarter divisions. The time is indicated by a pair of pierced blued steel hands.

Case
The cylindrical silver case is entirely smooth, with at the top and bottom mouldings. The dial is protected by a convex glass, set in a silver bezel. The bell is situated in the bottom plate, whilst the whole rests on three shaped silver feet. The maker has signed and marked the case with the citymark from Söderköping and silvermark S2 (1800).

Travelling case
The original circular wooden travelling case, which protects the clock during transport, has light coloured velvet lining and is covered on the outside with darkbrown leather. It can be opened at the front via a lid which are locked by a delicate clasp.
